When my twins were first born I searched high and low for affordable matching outfits for boy girl twins. I saw all of the adorable twin accounts on Instagram and found myself with a pit of jealousy in my stomach because I just couldn’t afford the trendy outfits. But ya’ll, I have finally found the matching outfits I’ve been on the search for the last three years!

Deciding on Matching Outfits for Boy Girl Twins
When I first found out I was expecting twins, I won’t lie. I FREAKED out. I never saw myself with more than one kid, but here I was kicking off motherhood with TWO!
I quickly dove into all things twins. Before I even left the hospital after my ultrasound I had joined three twin mom groups on Facebook and created a “twin” board on Pinterest. What can I say? I dive into things pretty hard!
One of the first conversations I had with their dad was what typical “twin” like things we wanted to do. We decided to name them similarly, but not too close. And as much as we wanted to dress them similarly, we didn’t have much luck finding affordable matching clothes for them.
The key word here being affordable.
We were never really “well off”. During my pregnancy their dad was laid off and had a hard time finding another job. Then when they were two months old he was laid off again.
To say that the first year was rough is an absolute understatement. Honestly, most of it is a blur between pure exhaustion and blocking out the really hard days.
One big thing I do remember from their first year is the envy I felt towards other twin families. Most of you know that I started Twins and Coffee early in the twins first year and with that came following a lot of other twin families. Some of them made everything seem so easy and their kids were always so put together. I knew it was just the rose-colored glasses we all look at social media through but it was still rough.
Something about a cute matching picture of a mama and her twins is just the cutest thing in my eyes!
But the closest we came to the affordable matching outfits for boy girl twins was solid color onesies and leggings we found at Walmart.
Now don’t get me wrong. I’m incredibly thankful for what we had and were able to make do with. I just wish there were more affordable options at the time!
