Truth be told, this is my first official DIY ugly Christmas sweater.
But today is ugly Christmas sweater day so I decided to hop in the car, run down to the dollar tree, grab some stuff and make up a fun DIY ugly Christmas sweater!
Yes, today, December 20th, is ugly Christmas sweater day. Who knew?!
So let’s have some fun with it, shall we?
Now ya’ll are gonna learn right along side me here. I’ve gathered some inspo from Pinterest and I am ready to go!
We’re keeping it simple though. No big extravagent sweaters here.
I just wanted to make something simple. Something easy with a glue gun and some holiday cheer.
But first, you need your sweater.
I took to my local Goodwill for that one. I didn’t want to spend good money on a sweater I’m basically making un-wearable. LOL!
Now for the decorations. I had a vision in mind of what I wanted to make out of my DIY ugly Christmas sweater.
I am no artist, but here is what I was going for:
Simple enough, right?
I think so.
Now is for the trip to the Dollar Tree. You could go somewhere else, but again, I’m not looking to spend good money on this dang sweater I might wear twice.
I grabbed some tinsel, ornaments and jingle balls. I didn’t find the mini ones I wanted but we’ll make due.
All I needed for my easy DIY!
Then comes the preparation. Again, I am no master. But I just hot glued the shit on and am hoping for the best.
And honestly, that’s it!
Here we have it:
Simple, cute (?), and fun. Perfect for the holiday season!
