I recently had a major mom fail. Major.
I set out to have a fun fall craft party with a friend and our kids and oh man. I didn’t think it could go so badly!
The only good thing that came out of the fall fun was making up an awesome recipe for easy edible finger paint.
The finger paint itself turned out awesome. I do, however, suggest using it in a very controlled environment. And in clothes you don’t mind getting messy yourself.
You can read more about my chaotic mom fail moment here.
But as for the easy edible finger paint? Well that is in this post.
The paint itself is totally safe to eat. As you can imagine, all my twins did was eat it.
And you likely have the two ingredients in your home already!
Easy Two Ingredient Edible Paint
Ready?
All it is, is yogurt and gel food coloring.
I used Kroger Brand Vanilla yogurt and this gel food coloring.
It honestly turned out so much better than I expected. The coloring was super vibrant. I am assuming that is due to the gel food coloring rather than liquid. I am sure other food colorings would work as well! It is worth a try!
To make it as easy as possible, I laid out my four small food containers I snagged from the dollar tree then filled about 2/3 full with yogurt. Then I topped the yogurt with a few drops of the gel color and pressed the lids on to shake together.
The yogurt paint needed a little bit more mixing, but other than that it was perfect. I even swatched it like a beauty guru.
Look at how pretty the colors turned out!
All in all, I highly recommend this easy edible finger paint recipe.
Just be warned. It is messy. Kids are messy.
Have fun!
