Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, and bathe the twins at the same time.
I know, not the safest thing in the world- but sometimes you gotta do it!
Bathing infant twins at the same time is impossible and crazy unsafe if you don’t do it right.
But with my tips, you will soon be rocking dual baths like a pro!
I have posted before about bathing infant twins separately, and how to conquer that route. But with the twins getting mobile I have decided to take a go at bathing them together so that I can keep an eye on each little booger.
Before implementing my tips, I would advise that you wait until your babes are solid sitters.
By that, I mean they have been sitting for a while, and even sit on their own. I would not use any of my following tips until they are able to go from a crawl to a seated position on their own. (I am not a doctor, just a twin momma)
Bathing twins together is a big task that really takes all of your attention. Try it for the first time while someone else is home to help, just in case.
The task will take preparation, confidence and something other than your favorite shirt. Whatever you are wearing is going to get wet and possibly even dirty!
I typically bathe the twins right after meal time. Ultimately because they are monsters and get their food everywhere. But that is what comes with baby led weaning. If you want to read more about my baby led weaning experience, check it out here!
Bathing right after meal time means I get plenty dirty- but it also means that they are secured while running one to the bath and then running for the other one.
Here are my five tips for bathing twins together.
I received below mentioned Nuby products for a review, but all opinions are my own honest opinions.
-
Prepare
The key to being quick and keeping it safe is being prepared. Have towels ready to go alongside the tub, fresh diapers waiting, and undress both right before you start getting them into the tub.
-
Purchase (and use) Bath Seats
Bath seats come in SO handy with twins! Neither can get out of the seats without my help, so I know that for the minute I am running out and grabbing the other twin they are kept safe! There are tons on Amazon to choose from! They also come in handy for hot days to cool off in the tub or shallow pool, and even sick days when they need to sit in the steam of the shower.
-
Fill tub only a few inches
Keep those babes super safe by only filling the tub a few inches. Less water means safer babies, in my opinion! I only fill enough to get their legs and bottoms wet in their bath seats.
-
Be quick!
A little obvious- but you really need to be quick! I don’t like leaving either twin by themselves. That is why I always do bath time after meal time. They are already in their booster chairs, so I place the chair on the ground so they cant fall off anything and run one twin to the bath, sprint back and take the other to the tub. To make the process super quick, make sure you move any baby gates that might be in the way as well. Make it a straight shot to the bathroom!

Make it fun with Nuby Products!
The best part about bath time is the play time, right? Make it fun with Nuby! Our favorite bath time products are their Hot Safe Bath Duck, Hippo Spout Guard, and Little Squirts toys!
The Hot Safe Bath Duck is fun to play with, but also lets me know if the water is too hot! The bottom of the duck is heat sensitive and the word “HOT” will turn white if the bath water is too warm for baby!
Then the Hippo Spout Guard is nice whether I am bathing the twins by themselves or separately. It guards the faucet so that no one bonks their head. I did notice that you really have to shove it onto the faucet, otherwise water sprays out the back. Not a big deal though to keep those noggins safe! My favorite part about it, however, is that it is easy to clean. To prevent any hard water build up I take it off and wash after each use.
The Little Squirts bath toys are the twins favorite part of bath time! They haven’t figured out the squirting part (which I am thankful for!) but they are the perfect size for their little baby hands. I think that the figures are super adorable and love the colors!
One of the things I love most about Nuby bath products is that they are all BPA free, like their other awesome products!
All three Nuby bath products mentioned can be purchased through Amazon! Check them out down below!
And don’t forget to show Nuby some love on their social media accounts! They post giveaways pretty frequently!
Best of luck with bath time!
I hope my tips, along with the couple Nuby products make it a great experience!
