First time mom? Then you need all of the first time mom hacks.

This post is sponsored by Mirum, but opinions expressed are my own.
As a twin mom, I was kind of shoved into both the first time mom thing and the second time mom thing all at once.
Sure, I was trying everything for the first time, but I ended up mastering whatever it was after the many times repeating it between my twins.
Like diaper changes. I quickly learned one of my best first time mom hacks; lay a diaper under baby before the diaper change to easily glide from the dirty diaper to the clean one.
From there I’ve collected all of these hacks that’ll make your transition to a first time mom that much easier.
Here are 15 First Time Mom Hacks no one told you:
1. Double Diaper it
I shared this one with you earlier. Make diaper changes mess free and simple by laying a fresh diaper down under baby.
2. Carry Doggie Bags
These are great for on the go diaper changes. Where else would you put the dirty diaper?
3. Create a diaper station
I had one both up and downstairs. I simply put together all the diapering needs in a little caddy that I could easily pull from for diaper changes. Think bum paste, wipes, diapers, changing pad if needed, ect.
4. Buy used
One of my greatest first time mom hacks- buy second hand mamas! I paid next to nothing the twins first year simply from scouting Facebook groups and the marketplace. It was super helpful especially with buying for two.
5. Mix formula ahead of time
If you’re feeding formula like I did, mixing all you need for the day first thing in the morning is a great hack. You can even find special formula pitchers!

6. Make a car box
I could not live without my car box. I simply filled a plastic container with diapering needs, snacks, toys, ect. that way we have everything we need for on the go! We weren’t shy about taking our twins on long tips during their first year so the car box was a must.
7. Use glow in the dark paci’s
Must I explain? Make finding pacifiers easy on yourself!
8. Store pump parts in the fridge
I pumped for my twins and the easiest hack I found for around the clock pumping was to store the rinsed parts in the fridge between pump sessions so you don’t have to wash them between each pump session!
9. Use your clothes to help baby sleep
This was a hack I learned while we were in the NICU. Your baby craves your scent, it’s one of the reasons they’ll sleep so easily on your chest but have a harder time when you set them down. So something you can do is place your tshirt next to them in their bed. I’d suggest only doing this while they’re swaddled and can’t roll yet to not pose a safety issue.
10. Forget the batteries
Your baby doesn’t need light up, loud toys. Trust me. They don’t even need to know those exist! I didn’t put batteries in their toys for a long time and everything went smoothly. Plus I didn’t lose my mind!
11. Baby Proof early
Baby proofing is hard work. You’ll quickly find just how unsafe your house is for baby! I suggest baby proofing early so that you yourself have time to get used to it along with any animals you have in your home.
12. Buy all the meds before hand
Before you need the medicine, make sure you HAVE it! Add it to your registry. Because the last thing you’ll want to do is run to the store with a screaming baby or two in tow looking for Tylenol.
13. Always use a stroller
First time mom hack for the win here. You’ll thank me later. Always use your stroller. Even if you have to end up carrying baby, at least it gives a great place to store your things! Plus it will become something they know and trust making taking them anywhere in the stroller just that much easier.
14. Use a backpack diaper bag
You need hands with babies, that’s it. So get yourself a backpack diaper bag to keep life simple!
15. Buy store brand formula
My last first time mom hack of the day; buy store brand formula from a store you trust. For me, that is Kroger’s Comforts Infant Formula.
I chose to buy Kroger brand Comforts Infant Formula for my twins because it offers the same nutrition and benefits of name brand, but at a literal fraction of the cost.

Kroger’s Comforts Infant Formula has all of the nutrition your baby needs for their first year and at a very comparable price compared to competitors like Similac. In fact, Comforts Infant Formula’s newest formula is even closer to breastmilk and can be compared to Similac.
Filled with the good stuff like DHA, vitamins and Choline to support babies brain development, Comforts Infant Formula was my go to for my twins. Especially thanks to the good deals Kroger runs through their shoppers card. Did you know you can score up to $400 in savings by shopping Kroger’s abundance of online coupons?

Right now you can score even more of a savings thanks to this Ibotta offer! Click here for a great cash back offer when you buy any large tub variety of Comforts Formula at your local Kroger store!

I hope these first time mom hacks help you master this whole mom thing and make life just a bit easier for you!
