2020 Holiday Season
Okay, let’s talk CHRISTMAS. 2020 has been enough and I am ready for this holiday cheer. I have been. Since.. March? Yeah. About March. This holiday season is going to be different from the last for a whole list of reasons and I am about as ready for it as I could be.
This holiday season is going to be my first as a single mom, and I’ll be honest, I’m feeling weird about it. Everything that I’ve found comfort in over the last ten years is no more. It is something I get caught up in sometimes. This will be the first year not trying to figure out which family my kids father and I will be spending the holidays with. This is the first year that I’ll be spending the entire season at home with my mom.
Living back with my mom this year while going through my divorce has been interesting. Interesting in a good way. I’ve learned so much and am really thankful for this time I’ve been able to spend with my mom. Thinking about the upcoming holiday season has brought up tons of memories of the holiday season while growing up. One of my favorite memories is of the year my sister and I counted 27 Christmas boxes. 27.
Yes. Twenty. Seven. Boxes of Christmas.
My mom LIVES for holidays. Our house growing up always had a seasonal or holiday-related flag hanging out front and was decked out head to toe. She set up entire tablescapes for Valentine’s day. So, you can probably imagine how hardcore she went for Christmas time.
I did take some time last week to count how many Christmas boxes she has at this point in her life and while she has definitely downsized from the 27 boxes, she does have a whopping 16.
My mom loves Christmas. Must be where I get it from!
Peppermint Berry Holiday Mocktail Drink Recipe
Clearly we’re all Christmas fans over here. We took it another step further this year and started decorating already. Well, started on Nov. 1st. By the time you’re reading this we’ve probably decorated the whole house!
Before we got started taking out all of the Christmas boxes though, I turned on my Christmas Spotify playlist and put together my Peppermint Berry Holiday Mocktail’s for my mom, Kendall, Caeden, and myself with my secret ingredient
My mocktail recipe has a secret ingredient you probably wouldn’t expect. I’ll share what that is in a moment but what ultimately ties this holiday mocktail together is the smooth & sweet Torani Peppermint Syrup.
I’ve raved about Torani before as the perfect coffee addition, but today I’m sharing my fave Torani Peppermint Syrup and honestly it is a HUGE holiday season staple in my home. Between making up my morning white chocolate peppermint iced coffees, to a little addition to some double chocolate peppermint cookies, or a good holiday-themed cocktail or mocktail, I cannot get enough.
Whenever I need a little pick me up no matter the time of year my go-to is a little Torani Peppermint flavor, but I can’t live without it come the holiday season. Literally, a spoonful in a morning coffee drink is enough to just make my day. They make their syrups with real, simple ingredients like pure cane sugar and natural flavors.
Their syrups are available all over the place, but the biggest selection is going to be on their own website: torani.com. Check out their huge selection & add a few into your cart along with the Torani Peppermint Syrup and then get started on this peppermint berry mocktail!
