The target dollar spot is my holy grail.
I can’t walk into Target without browsing, and at least buying one thing.
When I saw Target dropped their first round of Holiday gear, you already know I was all over it! I found so many cute things, but I also found a few things that would make for great holiday season DIYS!
Target and DIY. Match made in Heaven, am I right?
I ended up leaving the store with two Target dollar spot holiday DIY ideas, and I think you guys are going to love them.
They both have to do with one of my favorite things about the holiday season- Christmas cards.
The first Target dollar spot DIY idea I have for you is for making holiday cards. Then the second is about how to display your cards decoratively around your home on a banner.
Anyone else tired of the same old holiday cards? Last year I decided to purchase some tan card stock cards, mostly so that I could use them for all sorts of occasions. But also so that I could decorate them as I please.
Lucky us, Target is carrying the same cards in their dollar area! Along with some awesome stamps to personalize your cards.
So first Target dollar spot DIY? Holiday cards.
All you need is a pack or two of the plain tan cards, your favorite stamp, and a few colors of ink.
I opted for green and silver so that I could do a festive looking overlay effect with my chosen stamp.
From there, you probably know what to do. Wet the stamp with the desired ink color and stamp on the front of your cards where desired.
Pretty simple! And oh so cheap!
You can make these personalized cards for the same price as you would spent on a pack of old fashioned Christmas cards. But you can make them your own, and not to mention I think they’re a lot cuter than what you would otherwise get at the store.
Next DIY; Christmas Card Banner
This one is crazy simple, while being an adorable way to display your holiday cards!
Anyone else keep all of their holiday cards? Not your own. But the ones you receive? I have every single one my husband and I have ever received. And I put them out every year!
This year though, my cards are going to work into my holiday decoration in a more stylish way. Not just placed on the tree or the mantel like we usually do.
I ended up scoring a green felt banner and some mini wooden clothes pins from the dollar spot and together, they make for an adorable wall piece!
I ended up taking the little decoration off of the clothes pins so that they were more simple, and used them to decorate the standard forest green banner with our assortment of Christmas cards.
I absolutely love how it turned out! I think it is a super festive and appealing way to display your holiday cards.
What do you guys think?
Did my Target dollar spot holiday DIYs rock, or not so much?
