There is no perfect mom.
Regardless of what you see on social media, I promise you, there is no perfect mom.
That mom you see with the perfectly white walls and stunning wardrobe? She thinks she is a disaster not a perfect mom.
She thinks she is a hot mess.
Because we all see ourselves in the worst light. We think everyone else does too.
But you know what?
We’re all simply winging it.
There is no book. No code.
We’re all flying by the edge of our own seats.
Grabbing our oxygen masks from time to time because this shit is hard.
Isn’t in funny that we ALL think we’re the only ones without our shit together?
It’s the biggest self doubt in motherhood. That our homes aren’t clean enough, kids aren’t dressed well enough, that whatever we do is never enough.
Sometimes we think we’re nothing more than “that mom”
You know,
That mom, browsing Pinterest and crafting the most beautiful meals for her kids.
That mom, with the dishes piled high and laundry forgotten about.
That mom, with the loud kids in the store.
That mom, getting on the ground to get an Instagram perfect picture of her kids.
But that doesn’t mean we’re any less great mothers. We’re all simply doing what we think is best.
My twins watch probably way too much tv. And I’m that mom that gives chicken nuggets when I’m stressed.
But who. cares.
Don’t look in the mirror and think you’re not as good as someone else just because you do things differently.
Everyone has different circumstances in their lives. Everyone is just trying to do their best.
There is no perfect mom. Simply good ones trying to do their best.
