Something that I wasn’t prepared for before the twins was the amount of crap I would have to bring everywhere.
As well as the fact that I would never be able to find what I need inside of my messy backpack.
I needed some sort of diaper bag organization.
I feel like I could use some organization in all parts of my life. If you are already a mama, you probably feel the same way. More often than not, I am just a mess! From the milk stains, day old yogas, and mop of a bun- basically everything in my life just gets thrown together and I hope for the best.
Then things get out of hand and the milk bottles in the diaper bag sink to the bottom and soak everything else piled in there and somehow also seeps out and soaks the back of your shirt.
Obviously not talking from personal experience here…
Oh the joys of motherhood.
But thanks to Tote Savvy by Life in Play, I can actually take control of a tiny part of my life and never have milk soak through my bag and onto my shirt again.
I mean, a girl can hope!
I found their solution to diaper bag organization over on their Instagram, and they were gracious enough to send me one of their standard totes to try out for you guys.
Make sure to follow along to the end of this post where I am sharing an awesome deal they have going on right now!
The Tote Savvy diaper bag insert has honestly changed the game in my book, and has made diaper bag organization crazy simple. Look at this- NO HIDEOUS BACKPACK!
Their business model revolves around keeping you stylish and organized. Something I am sure we all know tends to run out the door the second you bring baby home. When is the last time you used your purse? How much better would you feel carrying a nice, organized purse into Carters or out for dinner with the kids rather than that old backpack?
I know that when I wear a backpack into a store, I feel immediately judged. Yeah everyone can see my kids and can put the pieces together, but I feel so much more comfortable carrying a purse into Target than my traditional backpack.
Here is what the Tote Savvy insert looks like:
Are you already imagining all of the ways you could utilize the pockets? Because I know thats exactly what I did the second I received my tote! I seriously went and dumped my purse (that has been literally been the catch-all of the house for months now) out and got to organizing.
There are different sized pockets, including an insulated one and a large pouch pocket like what you see above, as well as a washable changing mat rolled up at the base of the tote.
Here are a few of the ways I organized the tote;
Normal day out with twins:
That right there is everything I need for outings with the twins. I can pack a few extra diapers if we are going to be out for longer than just a few errands, but everything fits exceptionally well AND the tote fits inside of my purse perfectly.
I stuffed alllll of the following into the tote;
- Two burp rags
- Toys
- 6 diapers
- Full pack of wipes
- Butt paste
- Two onesies
- Snacks
- Sunnies
- Bottles
- Extra formula
Full day out with baby girl:
Here I put the bag together as if I had one baby girl and was spending the night at grandmas. The tote fit everything you would need for even the unlikely events of teething and Tylenol for a fever.
Scroll to see what all is actually tucked in there!
- Burp rag
- Towel/blanket
- Sippy
- Bottle
- Extra formula
- Snacks
- Tylenol
- Punkin butt teething oil
- Four diapers
- Wipes
- Butt paste
- Nuby silicone bib
- Sunnies
- Jammies
- Romper
Day out with an infant and a toddler:
And then here I organized the tote with baby and toddler in mind. Everything you would need for a day out with your baby and toddler! Even the books and tablet!
Again, check out what all I stuffed into it!
- Two burpies/towels
- Bottle
- Extra formula
- Sippy
- Water bottle
- Snacks
- Tablet
- Books
- Toys
- Three diapers
- Wipes
- Two outfits
Those three ideas are seriously just the beginning.

Not ready to switch away from the backpack?
I understand. I mean, I am a twin mom. It is hard to carry a purse along with two babies! Backpacks are so much easier. Which is just another reason why I love the Tote Savvy diaper bag insert. It fits in my standard sized back pack PERFECTLY!
And you guys saw above just how much the tote holds. Literally everything I was already throwing inside of my backpack. So not only can your backpack fit everything it did before, but it can fit even MORE. I could probably fit everything I need for a weekend at grandmas with the twins in just the backpack alone.
One last thing that I love about the Tote Savvy?
The convenience it brings.
I love that I can “make any bag a diaper bag” in actual seconds. And I never forget anything. The Tote Savvy stays organized and packed, so I can simply stick it into my purse, backpack, or straight into the car. Dropping them off with grandma? Slide the tote out of your purse when you get there and slide it back in your purse later that night.
Tote Savvy is making my life so much easier, which I am all for as a crazy twin mom.

What an awesome tote! I prefer totes or traditional diaper bags to backpacks anyways. Not knocking the backpack, I appreciate that they are more “hands free” but I’ve never been a fan of them. The amount of pockets in there is astounding. I’ve got to re-configure my bag or upgrade before baby #2 gets her in October!

Thank you for the great feedback! I hope you try it out! It is even perfect for throwing in the bottom of the stroller and you can then carry your opwn purse!! That is how I have been using it this past weekend.

Thank you!

I’ve heard sooo much about tote savvy but always went with a traditional diaper bag instead! I think it would be great for my next baby❤️

Yes! I absolutely love mine. It has made packing out my twins for the day crazy simple!

Hi Lynneah. Thank you for your sharing a great article. I’m thinking about going outside with my baby. Diaper bag is one of essentials for baby. Could you give me suggestion how to choose a diaper bag? Here is some diaper bag that I have a look. What do you think about it? Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

This looks so useful!! I have a bag with lots of pockets now, but I used a basic backpack with my first son – this would have been amazingly helpful!

Heeyy.where was this post when I was still pregnant? I LOOOOVE your diaper bag. Not the usual bulky traditional ones. Maybe next time I’ll have a kid, I’ll get something similar! Great post!

I would suggest any bag you already own, and throw in the tote savvy! It is seriously a game changer!
Lynneah says
Yes! The huge pocket on the outside of the tote is WATERPROOF as well!

I hope you check them out next time around! I love that I can use my purse for shopping, or throw it in my backpack for going to the fair!

Wow, your diaper bag looks so organized. I wonder if you can keep it that way all the time. For me, no matter how well I organize mine, I end up with a total mess at the end of the day 😀
Lynneah says
Lol! It is so easy to slide everything right back in that generally I can make it stay organized! The fact that each thing has it’s own pocket is a life savor! Plus, I always know where the binkie is, wipes are, ect
