Anyone else have a hard time getting veggies into their toddlers?
It is an ongoing struggle for me, and I don’t see it getting any easier over the next couple years.
That is why I pack in the veggies for picky toddlers secretly. You don’t even have to touch one yourself!
My favorite way to trick my twins into eating some veggies is by offering them MorningStar Farms® centered meals.
You guys know I love some killer parenting hacks.
Whether it be food or life related; I need them all. That is why I am so thankful for a brand like MorningStar Farms® who packs their veggie cuisine full of plant based proteins and veggies. They make meal time crazy easy for a busy mom like myself!
I know what you’re thinking. MorningStar Farms® is a vegetarian option. Well girl! That doesn’t mean their nutrient dense foods are just for vegetarians! I think it is a genius way to pack in the veggies for picky toddlers that also helps promote a healthier lifestyle over all.
Where can you grab some MorningStar Farms® for yourself?
I love to shop at Walmart for the veggie cuisine because they carry the largest variety around the Portland Metro! Plus their grocery pick up service is free. So, double win.
Order online grocery services are one of my favorite mom hacks. Walmart’s grocery pick up is suburb. Their website is crazy simple to use, they send you an email with any substituted products, and their pick up staff are very friendly.
Curious? It’s free. So might as well try out for yourself by clicking this link!
This last order, I grabbed some MorningStar Farms® Tex-Mex Burgers (4pk) and MorningStar Farms® Falafel Burgers (4pk) for the twins and myself to try out for lunch.
I chose the burger varieties because they are made from 100% plant based proteins from beans and rice, with the Tex-Mex variety weighing in at 11 grams of protein and the Falafel at 9 grams of protein. Since the twins will each share one of the burgers, I like knowing that they will be having a protein dense meal that will fill them up.
I think it is also worth mentioning that their burgers are vegan, bigger than before at a quarter pound size, and great for grilling.
They are also packed with flavor.
The Tex-Mex variety is made up with black beans, pinto beans, garbanzo beans, rice, green chiles, and peppers. Then the Falafel variety is made up of garbanzo beans and rice and includes cilantro, parsley and onions.
As for the actual meals- I went for a ‘deconstructed’ vibe.
I find that making up deconstructed style meals for my twin toddlers always ends up going over better as opposed to a made up meal like we’d make for ourselves. This is also why the MorningStar Farms® foods come in so handy. I am packing in veggies, without them having a clue!
Let’s talk recipes, since that is probably why you are here.
Pack in the veggies for picky toddlers with the following two meal ideas featuring MorningStar Farms®
Toddler Tex-Mex Lunch:
What you’ll need; One (cubed) MorningStar Farms® Tex-Mex burger, cheese quesadilla slices, and diced tomatoes and avocado.
I split the burger between the twins and mixed it with the tomato and avocado. Then added the side of cheese quesadilla along with some sliced banana.
Gyro-ish Chopped Lunch for Toddlers:
What you’ll need; One (cubed) MorningStar Farms® Falafel burger, sliced pita bread, crumbled feta, and some diced tomatoes and olives.
Again, I split the burger between the twins and mixed it with the tomato, olives and feta. Then added the sliced pita bread.
Both meals went over pretty well with the twins, and I love that it got them to try some new things!
