Whip butter in stand mixer until it starts to lose its "butter-y yellow" color

Add in a splash of vanilla for every two cups of butter & whip some more

Add in a splash of heavy whipping cream for every cup of butter & let mix some more

Add in a bit of powdered sugar, mix, and taste. Keep adding a little bit at a time until you like the taste

Let the final buttercream mix until light and fluffy. It should be close to a creamy white color when done
