There is nothing I love more than a good margarita recipe.
And this Basil Watermelon margarita recipe takes the CAKE!
Today I am taking a break from the usual twin focused content to share something that I love, just in time for National Margarita day!
I’m usually a basic, flavorless, on the rocks kinda girl when it comes to my margaritas.
But ever since I tried a Watermelon margarita at a local restaurant, I have had the biggest craving for MORE.
So I took to my kitchen with the help of my husband to perfect the best watermelon margarita recipe and ya’ll, I think I’ve done it.
Best of all? This drink is naturally sweet and pretty simple to make.
All you need is:
- Watermelon
- Basil
- Lime
- Tequila
- Salt
That’s it!
Super simple ingredients for a crazy yummy drink.
Here is how to make my basil margarita recipe!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 of a personal watermelon
- Handful fresh basil
- Juice of two whole limes
- Tequila*
- Ice
*We’ll measure out the tequila for each drink
How to make:
Start by scoping out half of a watermelon into a large blender.
Then add handful of fresh basil and the juice of two limes
Blend for a solid two minutes, allowing for the watermelon to turn into a frothy juice and the basil to shred into very tiny pieces.
Fill a shaker with ice, then add about one cup of the watermelon mixture and 1-2 shots of tequila (I’m not going to tell you how to live your life here).
Double strain before pouring over ice in a sugar rimmed glass.
Top with a few lime slices and a slice of watermelon.
& of course, enjoy!
