As a mom of twin toddlers, I am always looking for early morning hacks and my cold brew protein smoothie is the optimal hack for jumpstarting your day before the chaos hits.

2020 has made quite the name for itself by now, right? It seems as though everyone is struggling in their own way on top of whatever is trending on mainstream media that week and I think I can speak for all of us when I say; we need a break! I’m holding onto a tiny bit of hope that with my favorite season around the corner (fall) that things will start to pick up a bit.
We can hope, right?
But while we wait for those leaves to start falling, I’ve been trying to figure out some new hacks for making the days a bit easier while we’re all working from home with our kiddos and introducing school into the mix. My toddlers aren’t quite school-aged yet, however, we are getting a jumpstart on preschool activities and needless to say, home life is just chaotic.
Especially the mornings, which is why I am so excited to be partnering up with Torani and Walmart today to share with you all a delicious cold brew protein smoothie recipe to help you get going in the mornings.
Mornings in my house are insane. Between getting myself up and presentable, kids dressed, breakfast on the table, and limiting their arguments before my bright and early work calls; I usually end up cutting out my own breakfast as a way to save some time. What always ends up happening, though, is cutting out breakfast leads to a late lunch, ultimately coming to overeating at dinner and feeling sick. I can’t be the only one who does this to themselves, right?
Well, with the addition of Pre-K activities in our schedule this fall, I knew I needed to figure out some level of “breakfast” for myself to keep going all day long and smoothies were the first thing to pop in my mind. I used to make myself a daily breakfast smoothie when my twins were itty bitty, but that clearly went out the window at some point.
I decided to go with a cold brew protein smoothie for a few reasons. First off, it has some protein in it to get me through the day. Then it has some delicious flavors that can be added to depending on my mood that day. And lastly, it is full of some delicious cold brew that I drink all day long already.
One thing I really enjoy about my cold brew protein smoothie is that it isn’t too sweet, making it great for all sorts of tastes. The bit of sweetness it does have is from the fall favorite, Torani Cane Sugar Sweetener, which is a great pantry staple for an assortment of seasonal drinks and treats that is made with real, simple ingredients like pure cane sugar & natural flavors. The Cane Sugar Sweetener works well in this coffee breakfast smoothie because it doesn’t overpower the coffee flavor, and can enhance a variety of flavors you might mix into the drink.
You’ll see in the recipe below that I put it together with the mindset of it being a great base coffee protein smoothie that can be added to and flavored in an assortment of ways. I snagged mine from my local Walmart, find some near you here!
