I’ve never been into matching my twins. I know, huge shock!
Unmatching twins- am I EVEN a twin mom?
Honestly, it comes from how frugal I had to be during the first year of their life. I took any and all hand me downs that I could! And that meant that very rarely, if ever, you’d find my twins in matching outfits.
But now that we’re out of that slump and I’m finding it harder to score loads of used clothes for the bigger sizes, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite ideas for matching twins and siblings!
These ideas for matching twins and siblings are perfect for mamas of multiple genders. If you didn’t know, I have boy girl twins!
So I can’t just buy two of the same outfit. At least, not all of the time.
Here I am going to share with you my three different ways of creating coordinating outfits for twins and siblings.
Some match 100%, and others simply go together well enough for pictures to turn out.
I should add, while I was putting this post together for you guys, my Amazon cart quickly filled up with various ideas. So beware!
We’re going to go with three different levels of matching.
Starting with the easiest form of matching twins and siblings:
Pick one item to match between your twins or siblings.
I typically do this by having my twins wear the same shoes or pants.
I love the Oshkosh brand jeans because they grow the best with littles and hold up. I bought a pair of 18m jeans before they were even in the 12m size, and simply pulled the waist elastic as tight as it would go, and now they are fully into 18m size and I see these pants easily lasting into the 2t size jump!
Here are a few of my favorites for the one item matching for twins and siblings!
The overalls are fun because that right there is a matching outfit, regardless of what t-shirt or shoes you match it with!
Then for the second level of matching your twins and siblings:
Coordinating Outfits!
This is ideal for different genders, however, to me the most stressful of the ideas for matching twins and siblings.
To make it a bit easier on myself, I like to find one part of an outfit that I love for one of the twins, then go from there.
For example, I have a denim dress for Kendall that I love. Now to coordinate with her twin brother, Caeden, I could find a denim shirt for him to wear, or find that same denim wash in a pair of jeans and match his t-shirt to her shoes.
See. This one is a bit of work. But the outfits you can come up with usually turn out adorable and make for the best twin/sibling pictures!
Here are a few ideas I love from Amazon:
Those are a few ideas I love. And might have added to my cart. Oops!
But now for the last idea on outfits for twins and siblings.
Full on matching.
I’m talking the same outfits. With the addition of a bow for baby girl, but otherwise we’re dressing them exactly the same!
This might be a little easier if you have the same gender littles, but I’ve included all gender neutral ideas for us different gender mamas!
I hope those different ideas for matching twins and multiples has helped you and given you a few of your own ideas for matching your littles!
I have to know- do you love full on matching your twins or siblings, or are you more laid back like me?
