Let me just put this out there real quick- you need a lot of crap for twins.
But what exactly do you need to buy two of for twins?
Probably not as much as you think.
I have kind of made do with what I have purchased from the start, but if I was to go back and have twins again (which uhhh let’s not talk about that happening, please) there are a few things I for sure would buy two of for twins, but then some other things I would skip.
Here is what I would buy two of for twins:
Click on the titles to shop on Amazon for my favorites!
Car seats (well, duh)
High Chairs/ Booster seats (I love the boosters!)
Some people crib share, however, I felt that was really unsafe! Separate sleeping corridors for my twins until they are big enough to hop into each other’s beds if they want to.
Some twin moms swear by just one, but if I was doing it over again I would fork over the space and buy two for the convenience of them! Kendall would only sleep in a swing for a good four months (supervised, of course!)
Don’t be like me washing bottles around the clock. If I did it over again, even with one baby, I would purchase double the bottles I did for the twins.
These are great for bathing and keeping babies cool during the summer. Here is a blog post where I talk allll about them.
Carriers ORR Buy a Twin Carrier!
I have heard amazing things about TwinGo carriers. I personally have never tried them, however. Instead I stick to a stroller when I am out with the twins alone and then my husband and I both baby wear when we go places together.
And then what I would only buy one of:
I’d suggest a Twin Z or my breastfriend pillow!
A single stack double stroller will last you FORVER. Just buy the all in one now, and you’re set.
You’re only going to be bathing one baby at a time. Therefore- one baby bath.
Changing table
Again, you’ll only be changing one baby at a time!
Have you read about the many different uses for the Regalo Play Yard I shared a few months back? It is by far a MUST have for all moms, but especially twin moms!
I originally had two, until I bought this square one. It fit both of the twins perfectly underneath to play until they started wiggling around.
And lastly, a good ole’ diaper bag
Get the backpack version, or an organizing case like this one and thank me later.
What else?
Well, other than a crap load of diapers and wipes, click here for everything I think you need for your twins!
But aside from all of that stuff, you’re going to need help. In any shape or form- you need help.
You’re in for a wild ride, mama!

If you’re concerned about not recommending things that go against safe sleep guidelines, as it appears from your comment regarding twins bed-sharing together, note that neither swings nor Rock N Plays are safe for unsupervised sleep (Nighttime or unsupervised naps) and that Rock N Plays were recalled due to safety issues.

Hi Katie!
Thank you SO much for pointing this out. The recall happened after this post was published and I must have missed it when going through and editing posts after the recall. I appreciate another mama looking out for the safety of other babies!
