Twins and Coffee Friday Chat
Hey mamas!
The world falling apart around us is fun, huh? Sarcasm, obviously. But I’ve wanted to start a fun Friday chat post for a while now and I mean, isn’t now the best time for it?
We could all use a break from the news and I’d like to think my idea of a Friday chat is a good idea. Maybe. We’ll see??
Now this is the first, so obviously things might change moving forward but here is the gist of what I’ll be sharing inside of the Twins and Coffee Friday Chat:
- Recent Blog Posts
- Trending Blog Posts
- What’s New on Instagram/TikTok
- Stories I Find to be Interesting
- and Maybe Other Stuff Throw in There
Let’s dive in, shall we?
As far as recent blogs go, I’ve been getting a lot more content up lately as compared to the beginning of the year! I found myself in such a slump trying to find the mojo to get moving during the start of the year and it really busted my creativity, but I think I’ve gotten it back and I have been writing up a storm since!
While I usually share content around motherhood, toddlers, recipes and travel, I’ve kind of switched it up during the current pandemic to provide more resources for you guys.
Here are a few of my favorite posts I’ve written lately;
I was worried I might get some backlash for all of the screen time posts I was putting together, but so far you guys seem to love them! I know most of us have thrown our screen time limits out the window during all of this, and I wanted to provide a few ideas to keep those little brains moving.
My my number one favorite was the self care for mental health post up top. It’s such a weird time, right? With all of us mentally struggling from the same things? You guys know I’ve always struggled with my mental health so seeing so many of you guys struggling now brings on a really strange feeling.
But with all of that, I wanted to put something out there to help. I put together some of the tools I use, or tools my therapist thinks I should use, and hopefully it is helpful if you need it!
As far as trending goes, as you can imagine a lot of families are seeking out activity posts right now. Here are a few of my top activity posts for toddlers:
I’ve also been working on putting together some new activity posts, so if you have any ideas or things you’ve been doing with your kiddos that have worked, let me know! I’m sure we could all use some new and creative ideas for our toddlers.
Aside from putting more useful posts together for you guys, I’ve been trying to find my mojo back on Instagram. This past week I have honestly been struggling pretty hard mentally with everything going on, and it’s caused me to kind of drift from Instagram. I take pride in sharing the real and raw side of motherhood over on IG, but lately I can’t help but feel almost too dark or complain-y. I know it is likely all in my head, as we all need a sense of reality right now and not just pretty, polished positivity. But I’ve just been too wrapped up in my own head.
I am hoping to find it in me to get back to my norms of sharing day to day life with the twins along with some fun things thrown in there, but I’m letting myself take some time to get there.
Something I am doing over on Instagram, though, is talking about Stress Awareness Month. I shared this post on the first;
And since have been sharing a daily tip in stories on dealing with daily stress. I figured what a better time than right now, when stress levels are high all around, than to break out my box of tips and hopefully help you guys through this.
Something I am doing for myself that almost works as a stress relief is diving into TikTok.
I know, I know. TikTok. Not everyone likes the platform but honestly it’s really helping me get through this pandemic. Not only are some of the videos hilariously creative, but I’m letting myself have fun on the platform as well.
As a blogger, we tend to take social media really seriously. But with TikTok, it’s more about having fun and just doing your own thing.
If you’d like to follow the random crap that I’m doing, here is a link.
Another way I am spending way too much of my time is browsing Facebook and reading anything that catches my interest. Now I intended on sharing an assortment of my top finds with you guys this week, but that will have to wait until next because I didn’t actually save any posts this week.
Oops!
You can’t do it all, right?
So that is all I have to share with you guys this week. What would you guys love to see in upcoming Friday posts? I’m thinking maybe some Q&A’s? I’ll ask you guys over on Instagram and see what you think! Or you can go ahead and comment on this post and let me know what you would like to see going forward!
Anyways, I hope you guys are staying safe and staying HOME. I know we’re all anxious without seeing an end in sight but we’ll get there. In time, we will.
Until next Friday,
