Happy Friday mamas!

How has your week been? I was writing earlier this week about how we have reached the point of near normalcy in all of this. Not normalcy in the sense of things going back to “normal”. But in the sense that we’ve been living this weird life for over a month now and our routines have shifted. The press conferences aren’t anything new at this point, and honestly I’m no longer surprised by any news that comes to the surface.

I’ve found myself actually avoiding the conferences and news updates more and more because of that.

But yeah, things aren’t worse nor better over here. I was thankful that my family received our stimulus check and were able to pay some bills that I had taken off of auto pay when our income became pretty much uncertain. That definitely felt good to take something off of my plate.

Aside from that, it was a truly mellow week. My moms birthday was yesterday and this evening we are celebrating with Cheesecake Factory and a zoom call. The twins didn’t destroy anything too bad. This week was good.

I hope there was a similar good energy in your home this past week and it flows into this weekend.

I’ve taken up house projects. Last weekend we worked on the backyard, making it into a more fun play space for the twins. Once we can actually go into outdoor stores again, I’ll be snagging some pea gravel to make them a little play space for their cars and trucks. This weekends project is reorganizing both bathrooms to make them a bit more functional, and downsize on the buckets of products we’ve collected over the years.

Maybe those ideas will give you a weekend idea plan? Maybe not. Do you boo. I’m all about doing whatever makes you happy right now! Don’t try to live up to anyone else’s expectations.

I did something a little crazy and bleached my hair like one of those tiktok girls 😂 and it didn’t fall off! I used to do fun things with my hair all the time until I had the twins because well, dark brown was just easiest to maintain. But I’ve been in the mood to do something fun, and that was originally bleaching my hair to go frosty pink, but now that I have this blonde I don’t want to give it up quite yet. And I want to deep condition the SHIT out of it before I add color on top of it 😂 have you been thinking of doing anything fun to your hair while we’re stuck at home? #quarentinehair

What is something good that has happened in your life because of all that’s going on? (Ad) #FableticsPartner I know we can list off plenty of negative things that have come out of this pandemic. But I think we could all use a bit of positivity right now. For myself, this situation has helped me realize that if I slow down, the world around me won’t stop. I’ve always been a busy body. Even five year old me was a busy body. I’d wake up a the wonderful hour of 5am (bless my parents souls) because there was no time to waste. To this day, if I haven’t accomplished at least one thing by 9am I feel like the day is trashed. But being forced to slow down has really opened my eyes and helped me realize that slowing down isn’t the worst thing, and that I am absolutely capable of doing so. That is a major win in my book. Leading up to this pandemic I honestly can’t remember the last time I didn’t have something going on. My calendar has always been booked out and that’s the way I liked it. But if I take anything good from this situation, it’ll be that I can allow myself to slow down and still be ok. What about you? What we’re going through right now is new for all of us, and so it’s only normal that there will be ups and downs in the process. I’m learning to be okay with the fact that I pass through days of being super productive, energetic and motivated followed by days of feeling tired and unmotivated. All at of us can do right now is take one day at a time. Some days will be great, Some days will not. That’s okay.
